GES079 - Fulham low rise block of flats with snow!
I'd seen a few pictures that people had been taking from various high spots off the snow on facebook, and with a free hour, decided to take advantage of the rarity of snow in London. I knew a building off the Fulham Palace Rd had scaff on it, and popped along. The usual signs indicating alarms proved false, as there weren't any. And within minutes I was on the roof, after tip-toeing past people spaced out in front of the goggle box. The views were great, especially tinged with the winter white stuff. Here looking out to the river, hidden behind buildings at the end of the main road running up the picture.
Looking North to Charing Cross Hospital rising up on the right of the photo, along with the accommodation blocks. The roof of the flats being prominent.
The gardens of Fulham and Hammersmith looking North West.
A close up of Harrods depository, now flats on the West bank of the river. The hemispherical roof on the left, is Thames Wharf Studios, home of Richard Rogers architectural firm. The Long building nearer the camera and in front of Rogers building, is home to the famous River Cafe.
The building that would have conspiracy theorists and Orwellian freaks having sleepless nights, the imposing Empress Building. Next to it of course the Earls Court complex, awaiting it's death sentence, one day to be flattened for flats.
A chilly me, before heading down and back to reality.
As far as cheap thrills and easy explores go, this one was a winner!
